Washington, D.C. — Defend Forgotten America (DFA) today praised the Trump administration and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Administrator Dr. Oz for releasing up to $7.8 billion in additional Medicaid funding for Florida hospitals, a decision that will enhance healthcare access for families across the state.
Earlier this year, DFA joined a coalition urging CMS to approve the delayed funding.
“Once again, the Trump administration is delivering for forgotten communities,” said Jenn Pellegrino, Founder of Defend Forgotten America. “Thanks to this funding, hospitals across Florida will have the essential support they need to continue delivering care to the rural and small urban communities that depend on them daily.”
About Defend Forgotten America (DFA): Defend Forgotten America was founded by former America First Policy Institute spokesperson Jenn Pellegrino to ensure that federal bureaucrats and D.C. insiders hear from the heartland. Our mission is to give working Americans a voice—to ensure that their needs and stories make their way to Washington. We believe DC health policies should reflect community needs and realities for those in rural and small urban America, supporting fiscal innovation and creative solutions that protect rural and small urban communities and help them thrive.
