Defend Forgotten America released the following statement in response to accusations that Minnesota Governor Tim Walz covered up “massive fraud” of over $1 billion from Somali immigrants and retaliated against whistleblowers:
“Under Tim Walz, rural healthcare has been decimated. Just in recent months, six clinics closed in Southern Minnesota, costing jobs and access to care for entire communities. Instead of fighting to protect them, Walz covered up fraud that diverted precious resources from these communities. Even as rural systems warned they were on the brink. He expanded state-funded health coverage to illegal immigrants, while failing to utilize directed payment to help poor Americans and forgotten communities. Tim Walz’s fraud is just the tip of the iceberg. Defend Forgotten America is committed to holding accountable politicians who let fraud bankrupt the hospitals that keep forgotten communities alive.”
